Job description

Job qualification

Bachelor’s degree in Business Marketing, Project Management, or related field with 4 years of project management experience preferably within a tribal community. Familiarity with federal programs and funding mechanisms, such as the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA). Cultural competency training or equivalent experience working with Indigenous communities. A combination of experience, education, and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may substitute for degree requirements. Job description

The incumbent is responsible for the general scholarship and research in Seneca/ Hodinosyonih Culture, Art, History, etc. Incumbent works closely with the Director and other staff to advance the Cultural Center’s mission, to execute and develop support for its programs, and to help meet the Cultural Center’s future goals. The incumbent is directly responsible for the care, creation, and academic interpretation of all objects, materials, and specimens belonging or on loan to the Cultural Center. Must be able to work with the museum team in planning, displaying, designing, creating, and housing materials for public display in a timely manner. The incumbent must be skilled at program maintenance, budget management, education outreach, and logistics for a variety of programs. Develops written and photographic materials for the museum’s online services. (Website, Facebook, eCommerce, etc.)

Job qualification

Bachelor’s Degree in Museum Management, Museum Studies, Art History, or related field preferred or pursuing a BA-BS degree. Two (2) years of related work experience in Management or related field. Experience working with school-aged children and the public in a learning environment preferred. Must be able to push, pull, and carry up to but not limited to 30 pounds. Ability to write routine correspondence and to speak effectively to the public, employees, and customers. Must be willing to work evenings, weekends, and holidays when necessary.  Must possess excellent communication skills, both written and oral.  Must have competent technological skills and specifically be able to work with MS Office 365 Suite for editing and productivity.  Must have the ability to work in a diverse cultural environment.  Knowledge of Seneca customs, traditions, and practices is helpful.  Strong organizational skills and the ability to understand and manage high-profile, sensitive, or controversial projects. Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to work independently. Native preference. Must have a valid NYS license.

Job description

Under the direction of the Executive office, the Community Center Director is responsible for the overall operations of the Allegany or Cattaraugus Community Center.  Duties include fiscal management, staff and volunteer development, selection, training, supervision, recognition, promotion, marketing, program development, quality control, financial development, community relations and collaborations with SN departments.  Director will effectuate strong partnerships with Community constituents including: community based organizations, financial supporters, cultural leaders and businesses.

Job qualification

Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Physical Education, or related field.  Four or more years experience to include volunteer and staff supervision, fiscal management, planning, problem solving, annual/special event fundraising and community collaboration.  Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.  Must have certification in First Aid, CPR & AED or be willing to obtain certification.  Must be physically able to perform essential job functions.  Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.  Must pass a background/criminal history clearance as mandated by Indian Child Protection and Family Prevention Act.

Job description

The incumbent will be responsible for various tasks associated with the development and operation of an Onöndowa’ga:’ Gawë:nö’ (Seneca Language) Immersion Program. These tasks could include but are not limited to; written and oral instruction of material to Immersion Program students and interested community members, curriculum development, Immersion Program outreach and recruitment, conducting learner assessments and evaluations, and classroom management.

Job qualification

High School diploma or Equivalent. Must sufficiently pass the teacher assessment provided by the program. Preference will be given to individuals who maintain an Intermediate Mid or higher proficiency score (based on the Language Assessment guidelines). Must have 3-5 years of experience in Onöndowa’ga:’ Gawë:nö’. Preference for knowledge and experience in teaching a curriculum utilizing the root word method. Strong organizational and management skills. Must have excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment. Must have a strong passion and dedication for Onöndowa’ga:’ Gawë:nö’ as made evident through assisting others in developing oral proficiency in language.

Job qualification

Must have an Intermediate-level proficiency (per the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Language – ACTFL) with preference for individual who have completed Immersion Years I & II. Necessary language abilities:

Job qualification
