Construction Update: Cattaraugus Transfer Station

More exciting construction news this week as we bring you the latest updates from the Seneca Nation Environmental Protection Department on the New Cattaraugus Territory Transfer Station. Construction began in October 2023 and has a tentative completion date of mid May 2024. The goal of the Transfer Station is to replace the annual large item drop-off events. It will serve as a temporary holding and sorting area for waste materials. It is also the intent to increase recycling programs for the community by accepting recyclable materials. A transfer station contributes to a more environmentally sustainable practice by ensuring waste materials go to the most appropriate destination. A finalized list of acceptable materials, hours of operation, and fees will be posted as soon as the info is available.
