Public notice is hereby given that the Seneca Nation of Indians Community Planning and Development Department, Division of Transportation is seeking public comment on the proposed Schedule and Route Revisions to the Seneca Transit System to take effect March 9, 2015.
Schedule Revisions include:
Daily Schedules will originate and terminate on the Allegany and Cattaraugus Territories.
Monday through Friday schedules will increase from 4 round trips per day to 6 round trips per day. 6 Saturday round trips have been added.
It is proposed that the Village of Cattaraugus and the Village of Dayton be added as permanent stops.
Route Changes include:
The bus traveling between the Town of Cattaraugus and the Village of Gowanda will no longer travel Broadway Road but instead will traverse Route 62, intersecting Route 353 in Dayton and continue on its regular route.
In the event the STS main line becomes impassable due to road closures at one end of the route or the other, the STS Service will revert to a localized service operating on and in the vicinity of the Allegany and Cattaraugus Territories independently, where roads are passible.
Revised schedules, route maps and information identifying policies and procedures to activate alternate schedules are available for review at www.sni.org/sts.
Comments on the proposed Schedule and Route Revisions are invited from the general public, human service agencies, business and community centers.
Interested parties may comment or obtain more details on the proposal by contacting or writing:

On July 7, 2014, a section of Broadway Road, south of Wilder Road to Route 353 will be closed to traffic for approximately two weeks. For the duration of the closure the STS line will take Route 62 through Gowanda to Route 353; continuing on to the Towns of Cattaraugus, Little Valley and the City of Salamanca.
In addition, road construction for a turning lane will begin tomorrow on Route 438 in front of the SNI Health Center on Route 438. Expect delays in this work zone until the middle of July.
There are currently two construction zones on Route 353 in the Town of Cattaraugus, with traffic controls at each.
Please Be Advised: While these conditions exist there will be unavoidable delays to the STS schedules. We ask that you plan ahead.
