Stanley “Sully” Huff Heritage Center
A Cultural Hub of the Seneca Nation
The Stanley Huff Heritage Center or "The Sully" building is located on the Seneca Nation Cattaraugus Territory. The Sully serves as a one stop shop for hands on knowledge of Onöndowa’ga:’ language and crafts and offers community classes along with after school programming for youth.
Named in honor of Stanley Huff, the Sully houses the Cattaraugus Seneca Language & Culture, Seneca Immersion Group, the SNI Newsletter Department, and the Native Roots Artists Guild
Our Vision
The Sully will establish itself as a strong and vibrant heritage language organization, which will work towards restoring our traditional linguistic and cultural heritage as a central part of daily life. Our people will be educated, empowered, and involved in the process of ensuring that the way of life we inherited from our ancestors will continue to be passed on to our future generations. We will be committed to sharing the methods of our success in language and culture revitalization with other native people so they can achieve the same results.
Our Mission
To revitalize the Seneca Traditional way of life by instilling the Haudenosaunee worldview and values to
support the knowledge of our history, culture and a sense of identity and by stabilizing the Seneca language by creating diverse language and culture opportunities through multigenerational interaction for the purpose of becoming functional speakers in the Seneca Language.
