Public Notice: Construction Project

45 Day Public Notice Construction Project: Bridge on Route 438 over Clear Creek Cattaraugus Territory The Seneca Nation Department of Transportation is notifying the public about an upcoming SNDOT construction project to replace the bridge on Route 438 over Clear Creek, also known as Bucktown Bridge. The bridge was originally constructed in 1934 and has deteriorated to the point where repairing the bridge is no longer feasible, and replacement is the only viable option. The existing bridge is frequently inundated during storm events. Replacement provides an opportunity to raise the bridge to address these flooding issues. SNDOT and their contractors will need to access temporary maintenance easements located at 12710 Route 438 Irving, NY 14081 (see easement map). If you are a person of interest in the areas located on the map, please contact the Seneca Nation Department of Transportation at 716-945-1790 ext. 3051. Any interested party must provide proof of ownership, which will/should be filed with the Seneca Nation Courts and the Seneca Nation Clerk’s Office. Any parcel required to complete this project will require a property survey.
